Rugby league great Andrew Johns believes Dolphins halfback Anthony Milford has one month to save his NRL career.
Milford is back with his former coach Wayne Bennett at the Dolphins after turning down a multi-year extension with the Knights last year.
He made just 13 appearances for Newcastle in 2023 after returning from his NRL exile in April.

“Anthony Milford, he has a month to save his career,” Johns told Wide World of Sports’ Freddy and The Eighth.
On the eve of the team’s introduction to the league, the Dolphins suffered a comprehensive 40-16 loss to the Titans on Sunday.
Milford made several errors as the Titans ran away with the contest.
“He was really poor in the trial against the Titans and we all know the ability he’s got,” Johns said.
“He’s got a real big month in front of him.”
As the Knights’ specialist coaching consultant, Johns worked with Milford last season at the Newcastle and rattled off a list of concerns.
“I worry about his fitness,” he said.
“Defensively that edge was really poor. [The Titans] scored three tries down that edge in the opening 12 minutes. He and Brenko Lee together – whether there was no talk, no connection with the way they defended.
“He’s got a big month ahead of him, Milf. Let’s hope he nails it.”
Milford made 151 appearances for the Broncos after starting his career with the Raiders in 2013.
However, the 28-year-olf lost his way in his final seasons at the club after Bennett’s departure at the end of the 2018 season.
After scoring a combined 27 tries in his first two seasons at Red Hill, Milford managed just 22 in his final five seasons before he was informed that the Broncos would not renew his contract.
